Directions to our meeting point at Stanmer Park

Brighton Permaculture Trust use a number of venues at Stanmer Park including Earthship Brighton, our orchards and our plot at Stanmer Organics. All are difficult to find, and council security gates en route may be locked, so we meet people by Stanmer Church. If you are meeting here for a course/event please make every effort to be on time as we will be unable to wait for you. NB it is nearly 30 minutes walk from the station and bus stops on Lewes Road.

Please travel by public transport if you can.

By train

Falmer Station is a pleasant 30 minute walk from where we meet people at Stanmer church. Trains from Brighton and Lewes run about every half hour, but it is advisable to check that weekend services are not affected by engineering works – on such occasions replacement bus services can take considerably longer. From the station walk through the underpass under the main road, then turn immediately left and continue alongside the main road for about 400 metres until you reach the park entrance (there are two small lodges either side of the entrance). Directions continue below. Click here for train journey planner.

By bus

Brighton and Hove bus number 25 runs very regularly between the centre of Brighton (Churchill Square and Old Steine, a few minute from Pool Valley coach station) and the University, stopping near the entrance to Stanmer Park (there are two small lodges either side of the entrance). In addition, bus services 28, 29, 728 and 729 operate between Brighton (Old Steine) and destinations east of Falmer and stop at the entrance to Stanmer Park. On Sundays throughout the year and Saturdays in summer Bus 78 goes all the way to Stanmer Church, the first one arriving at 10.30 the last one leaving at 4.30 or 5.30.
